The year 2025 not only saw Google Maps turn 20, but also the local guides program has a special birthday to celebrate, as it by now has existed for 10 years already.
Within the local guides community and on LocalGuidesConnect, the official forum, a lot has been organized for this occasion – and I would also like to contribute by making a podcast episode for this 10th anniversary of the local guides program, containing contributions from local guides worldwide.

Today I have installed Spotify on my phone and listened to your latest episode, as well as Ep52. I am now following you on Spotify and will listen to earlier episodes when I have the time. Thank you for making them, they are truly useful. 👌💫🤓👋🇦🇺
It was interesting to hear the voices of LGs in Ep52 and their viewpoints.
I have great difficulty listening to people from other nations where English is not their mother tongue. My specific pet peeve is of those sing-song voices, eg Indian, all Asian nations, Argentinians, Brazilians etc. These are the ones who speak very quickly normally. To me that is like listening to gobbledegook.
In this episode, some of these people knew to speak slowly and enunciate their words clearly. And I thank them for their thoughtfulness. Others, well…
Perhaps for future similar podcasts, you do not choose the fast speakers, or else make a request of them to slow down, if you think that what they have to say is a worthwhile contribution.
Otherwise, I enjoy your podcasts and have added some to my private playlist on Spotify for future reference.
I will get on to Connect later on to catch up on activities as it’s been a while since I visited. Have been dealing with some health issues that have held me back from participating, although have made a few recent additions on Maps.
